Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance has announced a new annual plan for its users. Its new ₹4,999 plan replaces a similar long-term plan that the company had discontinued in December after it revised the tariffs.

With this, the company now has three long-term plans - ₹1,299 plan with 336 days validity and 24GB of data; ₹2,121 plan with 336 days validity and 1.5GB data per day; and the new ₹4,999 plan with 360 days of validity and 350GB data.

Reliance Jio ₹4,999 plan benefits

The company’s ₹4,999 plan is aimed at users who do not wish to have daily FUP limit on data. The plan offers 350GB of 4G data, unlimited Jio to Jio calls, 12,000 non-Jio calls, 100 SMS per day and complimentary access to Jio apps.

There is no daily data limit in the ₹4,999 plan. Users can use unlimited data per day and the total available data has been capped at 350GB. Once the user exhausts this limit, the data speed will be reduced to 64 Kbps.

While the plan may look good at first, it actually offers less than 1GB data per day. The company’s own ₹2,121 plan which offers 1.5GB data per day comes with significantly more data and is very affordable compared to the new long-term plan.

The main benefit that the ₹4,999 plan offers over the ₹2,121 plan is that there is no limit on the amount of data that can be used in a day. The ₹2,121 plan comes with a daily limit of 1.5GB data. Additionally, the ₹4,999 plan comes with 360 days of validity and the ₹2,121 plan offers 336 days of validity.

If we look at the total data offered by both the plans, the ₹4,999 plan offers 350GB data and the ₹2,121 offers 504GB data in total. The huge difference in the amount of data and the price makes the ₹2,121 plan a better option.

Apart from the data limits, the other benefits of both the plans are same. The plans offer unlimited Jio to Jio calls, 12,000 non-Jio minutes, 100 SMS per day and complimentary access to Jio apps.
