And the parliament session looks a tad different (except for the usual chaos during a session), with staggered seating arrangements, sanitizer stations all around and members of the parliament wearing masks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present on the first day of the parliament session. Speaking to the media before the session began, PM Modi said, “No relaxations until the Covid-19 vaccine comes.” He added that the parliament session is being organised with all necessary health precautions to contain the spread of the disease.

Members of the parliament arrived wearing masks. Shashi Tharoor, Congress MP, took to Twitter to share that the MPs had come “well shielded” against the pandemic.

Members were seated in a staggered manner during the session. With a new schedule, Lok Sabha on September 14 from 9 am to 1 pm and September 15 onwards, it will sit from 3 pm to 7 pm. Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha will gather from 3 pm to 7 pm on September 14, and from September 15 onwards, it will sit from 9 am to 1 pm.
