Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present on the first day of the parliament session. Speaking to the media before the session began, PM Modi said, “No relaxations until the Covid-19 vaccine comes.” He added that the parliament session is being organised with all necessary health precautions to contain the spread of the disease.
Members of the parliament arrived wearing masks. Shashi Tharoor, Congress MP, took to Twitter to share that the MPs had come “well shielded” against the pandemic.

Members were seated in a staggered manner during the session. With a new schedule, Lok Sabha on September 14 from 9 am to 1 pm and September 15 onwards, it will sit from 3 pm to 7 pm. Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha will gather from 3 pm to 7 pm on September 14, and from September 15 onwards, it will sit from 9 am to 1 pm.
The members of the parliament were also seen marking the attendance through the 'Attendance Register' App.

According to reports, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla had sent across a sanitisation kit to all MPs, which contained masks, sanitizers, face shields, gloves and “immunity tea”.
