Ex-CNN host Chris Cuomo said that he supports the outlet despite being fired for helping his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, navigate sexual assault allegations.

"As for CNN, I'll never be a hater," Chris Cuomo said Thursday. "CNN has great people. CNN has a great purpose. And I wish them all the best. And I miss so many of the people there. But it's time for me to move on."

His remarks aired on the first episode of his new podcast, "The Chris Cuomo Project."

CNN fired Chris Cuomo in December after a report found that he used media sources to uncover information about the former governor's female sexual assault accuser.

In August 2021, the office of New York State Attorney General Letitia James found that former Gov. Andrew Cuomo engaged "in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching, as well as making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women," investigators detailed in a 165-page report.

Similarly, in December, when Chris Cuomo was let go from CNN, a woman also accused him of sexual misconduct. His spokesperson has denied the allegations.

On his podcast Thursday, he said, "there are some outstanding legal fights that I have to respect," referencing CNN.

At the time, Chris Cuomo called his termination "embarrassing," but said he understood it.

However, he is now seeking a $125 million payout from CNN, claiming the outlet damaged his career.

"I really do regret how everything ended, but I will never regret helping my family," he added. "I promised my father, I would always be there for my brother and I always will be. Just like he has always been there for me."
