Over the past three years, Microsoft has unfailingly been among the highest-paying recruiters for India’s top engineering college — Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The company is reportedly offering the highest salary to IIT graduates with an annual package of over ₹15 million for US-based roles, Economic Times reported.

According to the report, Microsoft is offering over $214,600 to fresh graduates that includes base salary, performance bonus and restricted stock units.

After Microsoft, car aggregator Uber has also reportedly rolled out offers for ₹10 million to the students of 2019 batch. Microsoft and Uber have become the only companies offering salary packages above ₹10 million that includes a fixed base salary and variables, the report said citing an official with the IIT placement cell. Uber has reportedly offered a compensation of nearly $155,000 for an offshore placement to graduates.

According to the placement numbers reported last year, Microsoft rolled out the highest offer of ₹13.9 million to IITians last year for its Redmond headquarters. It picked out four graduates at the same compensation. India’s domestic salary packages also rose by 15%-20% last year.

Other companies that have been top recruiters at the IITs include Squarepoint Capital, NEC Japan and Works Applications.
