He has also become the fifth fastest player to score six ODI centuries in the world.Shikhar Dhawan is a distant second, having scored six ODI centuries in 46 matches. Dhawan, who is missing from the World Cup squad last played an ODI match for the country in 2022.KL Rahul is third in the list of fastest Indian players to hit six centuries. Rahul achieved this feat in 53 matches.Virat Kohli, who holds several records to his name, including most ODI centuries is fourth on the list. He scored his sixth ODI century in 61 matches.Gautam Gambhir is a close fifth, having scored six ODI centuries for the country in 68 matches.With the century against Australia, Gill equalled Ricky Ponting’s record of most ODI centuries at home in a calendar year with four centuries. He has also become the fourth batsman to score 800 runs or more at home in a calendar year in ODIs. With ten more ODIs this year, Gill is expected to break several more records.
