Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly working on a slew of new features for its Android and iOS apps. Some of these features have already been spotted on beta apps.

Some of the new features that WhatsApp is working on include download timers, message reactions, polls and more. The company is also working on a change in the way media is saved in disappearing messages.
Download timers
According to a report by WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a download timer that will inform you how long it will take to upload a document. This is already live on the desktop version and is expected to be soon available for mobile users.

This feature will be especially useful for users with slower internet speeds and users sharing large files. WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to share up to 2GB of files on the app.
Message reactions
WhatsApp is also testing a message reactions feature that will allow users to select from the available emojis to react to a message. According to WaBetaInfo, users will be able to choose from like, love, laugh, surprise, sad and thanks to react to messages.

The reactions will be similar to Facebook’s reactions that allow users to react to posts and comments. Telegram has message reactions from quite some time now.
Polls
Message reactions isn’t the only feature from Facebook that is being added to WhatsApp. The company is also looking to introduce polls on the app, a feature that has been available on its rival Telegram for quite some time now.

The feature will allow you to select a question and add several options to it. The feature is initially expected to be available for WhatsApp groups and may eventually make its way to status.
Drawing tool
WhatsApp is also working on an improved drawing tool for its app. According to WaBetaInfo, users will be able to use a new pencil and blur tool while editing images.
