Budget offering: Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G hit Indian market sub ₹10,000

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its latest budget smartphones, the Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G in India on Wednesday, in what is likely the last launch from the company in the country this year.

The Xiaomi Redmi 13C series is the successor of the Redmi 12C that was launched in March this year. While getting a 4G smartphone may not make sense to many, the company has launched both 4G and 5G smartphones, offering users the option.

Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C price and availability

The Redmi 13C is priced at ₹8,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, ₹9,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹11,499 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It comes in Stardust Black and Starshine Green colour options and will be available from December 12.

The 5G-enabled Redmi 13C 5G is priced at ₹10,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, ₹12,499 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹14,499 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The device will be available from December 16 in Starlight Black, Star Trail Green and Star Trail Silver colour options.

Both the devices will go on sale from Amazon India, Xiaomi Online Store and the company’s authorised retail stores across the country.

Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G specifications

The Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G both run on Android 13 with the company’s MIUI 14 skin on top. The smartphones feature a 6.74-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.


In terms of performance, the Redmi 13C is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G85 and the Redmi 13C 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor. Both the smartphones offer up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, along with microSD card support up to 1TB.

Coming to the camera department, the Redmi 13C features a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP macro sensor. It comes with an 8MP selfie camera.

The Redmi 13C 5G on the other hand features a 50MP primary camera at the back and comes with a 5MP selfie camera.

Both the smartphones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery coupled with 18W charging support.
