The Android 12 update went through a lot of testing and most of the issues were ironed out during the beta period. However, some of the users running Android 12 have reported bugs and issues being faced by them.

Here are all the issues that Android 12 users are facing:

App crashes and battery drain

One of the most common issues faced by Android 12 users include app crashes. Several users have reported that apps are randomly crashing on their devices after the Android 12 update. The user also added that the battery is draining very fast.

Face unlock

Another common issue that has been reported is face unlock. Several users have claimed that face unlock has stopped working on their device and they repeatedly get the same notification – "Clean the top of the screen, particularly the black bar.”

Despite cleaning the display repeatedly and even restarting the device, the face unlock issue still persists.

Android Auto

Android Auto users have reported that after the update, Android Auto is no longer popping up when the device is plugged in.

Users have tried to troubleshoot by removing other Bluetooth connections, using different cables and ports, however, the device is not recognized.

Battery drain

In addition to battery draining due to app crashes, some users have also reported that their battery is draining even when they are not using the device.

“My Pixel 5 has a high baseline consumption even over 10% per hour with the screen off and without use, which was not the case before the update,” said a user. “I have tried several times to restart the phone but nothing changes. I haven't installed any new apps or changed any other settings,” the user added.

Touch issues

A user on Twitter has said that he is facing touch issues after updating the device to Android 12. “Android 12 is wrecking my Pixel 4a. Touch is all wonky and the animations are running slow. Also, a weird thing where I can't touch the date to open my calendar anymore,” the user said in a tweet.

Update notification

Some users have reported getting a notification to update to Android 12 despite already running the latest Android version. When the users go into settings and check for an update, they’re informed that the device is up to date.

Apart from these issues, some users have also reported facing the scroll animation. More issues may pop up as other users start getting the Android 12 update on their device.
