Xiaomi today launched its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi A3 in the company’s A series. It is the successor of the Redmi A2 that was launched in India in 2023.

The Redmi A2 is a 4G smartphone, meaning it does not support 5G. The device is aimed at those looking for an entry-level smartphone or a secondary smartphone.

The Redmi A3 smartphone has been priced at ₹7,299 for the 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, ₹8,299 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹9,299 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.

The device comes in Lake Blue, Midnight Black and Olive Green colour options. It will go on sale starting from February 23 from Flipkart, Xiaomi online store and the company’s authorised retail stores across the country.

Redmi A3 specifications



The Redmi A3 runs on Android 13 (Go Edition). For those unaware, Android 13 (Go Edition) has been built for entry-level smartphones that offer less RAM. It is a stripped down version that has been optimised to run faster on affordable smartphones.

The Redmi A3 features a 6.71-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The Redmi A3 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 chipset. It comes in three variants – 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Coming to the optics, the device features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera.

The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
