Optimised gaming

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset comes with the company’s auto variable rate shading (AVRS) feature, optimising power, and performance by rendering content in focus at full resolution and background content at a lower resolution.

It offers Snapdragon Sound with Qualcomm aptX for a lag-free gaming experience so that you can listen to your enemy’s movements on time.

Improved low-light imaging

The chipset is equipped with an 18-bit triple image signal processor (ISP), enabling users to capture images in low-light conditions. The ISP captures 30 images and merges the best parts into a single shot to create a brighter and clearer image. It supports up to 200MP sensors.

AI performance

AI performance has also been boosted with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. It comes with on-device AI integration across the platform and is claimed to offer 2x performance over its predecessor. Qualcomm has claimed that the chipset offers 40% better performance per Watt than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

Up to 4.4 Gbps speeds

Equipped with the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset offers download speeds of up to 4.4 Gbps and supports dual-SIM dual-active (DSDA) for both 4G and 5G connections.

The Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity System offers Wi-Fi speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps.

While there is no change in mobile data speeds, the Wi-Fi speeds have improved from the 2.9 Gbps offered in the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.

Redmi and Realme to soon launch smartphones

We will not have to wait long before seeing devices with the new chipset. The chipmaker has revealed that smartphone makers, including Redmi and Realme, will launch smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset starting this month.
