Samsung kicked off 2022 with some major announcements for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022. The South Korean giant unveiled a new lineup of smart TVs with features such as support for NFTs, NVIDIA GeForce Now and Google Stadia, a remote that uses radio waves and more. Samsung also launched a bunch of monitors including the first 4K screen with a 240Hz refresh rate.


Samsung made the announcements at its pre-CES 2022 event. CES 2022 officially starts on January 5 and it will continue until January 8 at the Las Vegas Convention centre. It will be a physical event despite companies cancelling their in-person appearances.

Samsung is expanding its cloud gaming hub on smart TVs with support for NVIDIA GeForce Now, Google Stadia and Utomik. This feature will be available on select Samsung 2022 smart TVs, and it includes HDMI-connected video game consoles as well. This could mean that you will be able to access these cloud gaming services with the same controllers as your console, according to The Verge.

NFTs were all the rage in 2021 and it’s expected to continue this year as well. And Samsung is joining the trend by adding support for NFTs on its 2022 smart TVs. It’s actually launching a marketplace for consumers to browse through NFTs on their TV screen, purchase them and even showcase their collection with others.

Samsung is launching three new micro LED TVs in 110, 101 and 89 inches with features such as Art Mode, multi view that lets users view content from four different sources simultaneously, and Dolby Atmos. Samsung is also launching Neo QLED TVs with big upgrades on brightness, sound, and eye comfort.

Samsung’s Odyssey Neo G8 gaming monitor is the world’s first monitor to feature a 4K screen with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. This is a 32-inch curved monitor with a 2,000nit peak brightness. Another 32-inch ‘Smart Monitor M8’ from Samsung comes with smart TV and productivity apps built-in and a movable webcam. It also unveiled 27-inch and 32-inch models of its High Resolution Monitor S8 with 4K displays, USB Type-C and LAN ports.

Samsung also unveiled its 2022 lineup of soundbars that come with wireless Dolby Atmos support which is a wireless smart TV-to-soundbar connection. The lineup also includes the HW-S800B Ultra Slim Soundbar which is a 1.6-inch compact soundbar.

The new Eco Remote has a unique feature that charges itself by collecting radio waves from routers and converting them to energy.
