New Delhi, Feb 12 () Bajaj Auto Ltd on Wednesday launched BS-VI compliant version of its popular motorcycle Pulsar 150 at a starting price of Rs 94,956 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The fuel injection (FI) system equipped BS-VI version of the model comes in two variants of Pulsar 150 and 150 Twin Disc which are priced at Rs 94,956 and Rs 98,835 respectively, Bajaj Auto said in a statement. The BS-VI variants are costlier by Rs 8,998 from the respective BS-IV versions, it added. Commenting on the launch, Bajaj Auto President - Motorcycles, Sarang Kanade said "the introduction of these models continue the transition of our products to BS-VI norms." Bajaj Auto has scaled up the range of BS-VI compliant vehicles and it will be expanded over the next few weeks, he added. "With the BS-VI compliant Pulsar 150, we have ensured that it continues to deliver excellent performance while meeting the stringent BS-VI standards," Kanade said. RKL DRR

The new motorcycle will come up with the attitude of the naked series and the homegrown automaker has made it in such a way that it looks more like a lean NS200 than having its own identity. 
 
 
 <keyword id="6358511" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj">Bajaj</keyword> has still not made any official announcement regarding the launch of NS150 in India but it is expected to be launched in India within next 3-4 months. The expected price tag is somewhere around Rs. 75,000 (Ex-showroom). 
 
When it comes to design and style, NS 150 has the cuts and curves of 200 NS. This makes the new 150 unit more like an economical version for the same styling. The new beast sports petal shaped alloy wheels which add up to the style and the fiery looks. 
 
The 150NS has the same console that is present in the NS200.

When it comes to engine and design, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=bike&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">bike</a> runs on a 149.5 cc engine which produces 16.8 BHP @ 9500 rpm with 13 NM of torque @ 7000 rpm. Performance is something that Bajaj is known for and along with it, the 150 segment balances the mileage issues also. It has a 5 speed manual gearbox. 
 
 
 
The company has given no statement on the mileage but it is expected to be a lower figure around 40-50 kmpl.

Indian two-wheeler manufacturing company <keyword id="6359783" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj-Auto">Bajaj Auto</keyword> is aiming to regain lost ground with its two new <keyword id="2490178" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="150-cc-bikes">150-cc bikes</keyword> in the second half of the current fiscal year (2014-15). 
 
Eric Vas, Bajaj Auto president (motorcycle), said, "From September onwards, we hope to come to a zero deficit situation compared to last year's monthly numbers." 
 "We are in deficit by about one lakh units in sales till now (April-August 14) this year. We can add about 35,000 units a month even if the mid-segment (above Rs. 50,000) of the industry grows from 17 to 20 per cent of the total <keyword id="142272" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="motorcycle-market">motorcycle market</keyword>," he said in Kolkata. 
 
Bajaj Auto anticipates that the market will experience evolution for new products above entry level (100 cc) and this would eventually help the company gain in market share, he said. 
 
Currently, Bajaj has a market share of 19.32% of total motorcycle market. The company will position the newly launched Discover 150-cc twin motorcycles as premium 'commuter' segment products and not as sports bikes. 
 
"Currently, the market does not have a product in 150cc bikes positioned as commuter motorcycle. So, we aim to get all of this segment," said Eric Vas. 
 
Shedding more light on the new products, Vas said there can be some announcement in the Pulsar range this year. However, he did not reveal more details about this.

 <keyword id="45497" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajiv-Bajaj">Rajiv Bajaj</keyword>, MD of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer, said, that he is pretty sure that the new range of 220cc and 150cc bikes are capable of helping the firm grow by 8-9% in the premium segment, for a shorter term though. 
 
Bajaj, further, said that one should not wonder if the Avenger sales jump to 10,000-15,000 units a month. As of now, the company is selling around 4,000 units in a month’s time. 
 
While showing his confidence on the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bajaj+Avenger+">Avenger </a>series, Bajaj said, "My confidence comes from a time-tested approach of creating something which is the opposite of what's there in the market. When everybody is presenting one format of a bike, we are presenting something different with the Avenger. And hopefully people who are tired of buying the same thing will go for something new and exciting." 
 <keyword id="6359783" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj-Auto">Bajaj Auto</keyword> had felt that the current model of Avenger that is available in the market is apt for a select segment of consumers. This was the reason why the sale was limited to just 4,000 units a month. 
 
In its newly-introduced series of Avenger bikes, the Pune-headquartered company has provided a variety in price, cubic capacity, design and feel. 
 
While sharing the growth details of various category bikes manufactured by Bajaj Auto, an official statement revealed, "Our segment share in the sports bike category has come close to 40%, thanks to the new range of Pulsar bikes. With this segment making up for 18% of the overall 8.5 lakh units a month, the premium segment constitutes about 1.6 lakh units per month. An incremental gain of 11,000 units can easily help us increase the segment share by 7-8%, which may take our share to over 45%."

<keyword id="6359783" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="bajaj-auto" source="Orion">Bajaj Auto</keyword> Ltd on Wednesday said it will set up an electric vehicle manufacturing facility at Akurdi in Pune with an investment of ₹300 crore. The facility, for which the work has already commenced, will have the capacity to produce 5,00,000 Electric Vehicles (EVs) per annum and cater to both domestic and exports markets, the company said in a release. The first vehicle from the new unit, spread over half-a-million square feet space, is expected to be rolled out by June 2022. The unit will employ around 800 personnel. Akurdi is the site of the original Chetak scooter factory. "In 2001, Bajaj 2.0 took off on the roaring Pulsar, in 2021, Bajaj 3.0 arrived on the charming Chetak. Going forward, for the Bajaj portfolio, except for implementing one state-of-the-art ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) platform that is currently under development, all our R&amp;D drive train resources are now laser focused on creating EV solutions for the future. "This alignment reflects our belief that light electric vehicles for sustainable urban mobility is an idea whose time may finally have come," Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, said. He also said the investment at the Akurdi facility will complete the virtuous cycle of hi-tech R&amp;D competencies, high-efficiency engineering capabilities, world class supply chain synergies, and global distribution network which should leapfrog the company into a market leading position in EVs in India and overseas. The investments made by Bajaj Auto will be supplemented by a number of vendors, who will invest a further ₹250 crore ($33 million), the company said. The new unit will have cutting-edge robotic and automated manufacturing systems for everything, including logistics and material handling, fabrication and painting, assembly and quality assurance. These systems have been designed for flexible product mix while keeping in mind the best worker ergonomics and maximum process efficiency, it said. The unit at Akurdi is co-located with Bajaj Auto's state-of-the-art R&amp;D centre to foster greater collaboration, leading to faster time-to-market and should transform the facility into a hub for design, development and manufacturing of a complete range of electric vehicles, according to the statement. Bajaj Auto to set up electric vehicle manufacturing unit in Pune with a ₹300 crore investment

After 15-month-long tussle with workers, Pune-based <keyword id="6358511" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bajaj">Bajaj</keyword> Auto and its Chakan plant union have finally reached a wage agreement under which the management has agreed to hike the wages by up to Rs 10,000 a month. The intermittent unrest has affected the production of Bajaj Auto. 
 
Under the new wage agreement, permanent employees having been with the company for five or more years will get a wage hike of Rs 10,000 a month. On the other hand, those having spent three years or more will be given Rs 9,500 a month. 
 “We are happy that the Chakan union has agreed to our proposals on the wage hike, which we had come up with at the time we entered into negotiations with them,” said a company official, confirming the wage hike pact that <keyword id="310993" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bajaj-Autos">Bajaj Autos</keyword> signed with its union. 
 The new agreement was reached last week with the management and the <keyword id="2477414" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Chakan-plant-employees-union">Chakan plant employees’ union</keyword>, <keyword id="2475952" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Vishwakalyan-Kamgar-Sanghatna">Vishwakalyan Kamgar Sanghatna</keyword>. According to people in the company familiar with the matter said that under the settlement agreement, the management has also decided to convert the earlier Rs 12,000 annual attendance award for full attendance to Rs 1,000 a month. 
The revised agreement will be effective, retrospectively, from April 1, 2013 for three years and ends the near 18-month uncertainty, which witnessed frequent strikes and labour unrest at the company’s main plant at Chakan near Pune. 
 Apart from the wage hike, the other major demand was the near-free allotment of Bajaj shares to them through an ESOP (employee stock ownership plan) agreement. Bajaj Autos managing director and chief executive <keyword id="45497" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajiv-Bajaj">Rajiv Bajaj</keyword> had vehemently opposed this. Notably, the new wage agreement does not include the ESOP. 
 
Under the new agreement, 60% of the revised wage will be part of the basic pay and the rest in allowances. Besides, the existing regular attendance bonus of Rs 480 has been revised and half of this (Rs 240) will be merged and the rest divided into weekly pay of Rs 60 each. 
 
Both the Bajaj management and the union have also agreed to withdraw all cases related to Chakan plant within 15 days of the date of settlement. 
 The Chakan plant employs over 2,000 workers. This includes around 900 permanent employees. The company produces 1.2 million motorcycles, including the flagship <keyword id="76971" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Pulsar">Pulsar</keyword>, the <keyword id="387879" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Avenger">Avenger</keyword>, the <keyword id="57645" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ninja">Ninja</keyword> and the KTM brands, per year.
