Narine won his first <keyword id="19936836" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="MVP-award" source="keywords">MVP award</keyword> in the IPL 2012 after picking up 24 wickets, it was also his debut season. His second MVP came in the 2018 season of the tournament when he scored 357 runs and picked 17 wickets as well. In the 17th season of the IPL, Narine displayed a stunning performance for the Kolkata-based franchise. He scored 488 runs and bagged 17 wickets. In the final match of the IPL 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Narine took one wicket and gave 16 runs in his four-over spell, he removed Jaydev Unadkat from the crease in the 18th over. During the run chase, he scored six runs after playing two balls at a strike rate of 300. KKR lifted their third title under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer after thumping the Hyderabad-based franchise by 8 wickets on Sunday. Recapping the match, SRH won the toss and elected to bat first. KKR rocked SRH with continuous wickets, with the big buy Mitchell Starc justifying his hefty price tag. Only skipper Pat Cummins (24 in 19 balls, with two fours and a six) and Aiden Markram (20 in 23 balls, with three fours) touched the 20-run mark and SRH was bundled out for 113 in 18.3 overs. Andre Russell (3/19) was the top bowler for KKR. Starc (2/14) and Harshit Rana (2/24) also contributed well with the ball. Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy and Vaibhav Arora took a wicket each. KKR pulled off the run-chase of 114 run-target in just 10.3 overs with eight wickets in hand. Venkatesh Iyer (52* in 26 balls, with four boundaries and three sixes) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39 in 32 balls, with five fours and two sixes) shined for KKR in the final match of the tournament. Avesh Khan (3/44) was the top bowler for RR. Ravichandran Ashwin (2/19) and Trent Boult (1/16) also did a fine job in putting brakes on the RCB run-rate. Ashwin overtakes Narine, becomes fifth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history

The consolidated net profit of the company is also highest at Rs 57,101 crore in FY24. The <keyword id="21739636" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="crude-oil-production" source="keywords">crude oil production</keyword> of the company has surged by 2.4 per cent quarterly to 5.359 MMT in Q4 FY24. However, the standalone gross revenue of the company declined 11 per cent YoY to Rs 1,38,402 crore in FY24 from Rs 1,55,517 crore in FY23. The standalone profit has surged yearly by 1.1 per cent to Rs 40,526 crore in FY24. The company also announced a total <keyword id="20047030" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dividend" source="keywords">dividend</keyword> of Rs 12.25 per share with a total payout of Rs 15,411 crore. This includes an interim dividend of Rs 9.75 per share which is already paid during the year and a final dividend of Rs 2.50 per share recommended by the Board. The Crude Oil production of the company in Q4 FY'24 saw an increase of 2.4 per cent over Q4 FY'23 whereas <keyword id="20646431" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gas-production" source="keywords">gas production</keyword> decreased by 3 per cent. The company informed that it drilled 541 wells, the highest recorded in the past 34 years, comprising 103 exploratory and 438 development wells. ONGC invested around Rs 37,000 crore in <keyword id="20018917" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="capital-expenditure" source="keywords">capital expenditure</keyword> in FY24, compared to Rs 30,208 crore spent in the previous year. ONGC has also declared 11 discoveries (6 in on land, 5 in offshore) during FY 2023-24 in its operated acreages. Out of these, 6 are prospects (1 in on land, 5 in offshore) and 5 are new pool (on land) discoveries. The shares of ONGC gained more than 46 per cent in the last six months on the national stock exchange and were trading at Rs 280 at the time of filing this report. ONGC declares highest ever standalone profit in FY24

The overall hiring at year-on-year level showed a decline of only 10% in December, according to <keyword id="218117" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naukri-com">Naukri.com</keyword> 'JobSpeak' report. The hiring in the insurance sector grew by more that 45% in December, as Indians felt the need for securing their health and businesses in the post-Covid era. The auto and ancillary sector (33 per cent) continued to register <keyword id="42546" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Growth">growth</keyword> in sequential hiring with increased consumer demand during the year-end period. Other key sectors such as BFSI (+18%), Pharma/Biotech (+28%), FMCG (+21%) and IT-Software (+11%) too have shown positive growth in hiring. "Key sectors like hospitality, travel, auto and retail are still bouncing back, and the sequential numbers reassure us of robust recoveries in 2021," said Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer, Naukri.com. "As we look forward to a brighter year ahead, the overall hiring sets in the right direction for the closing month." Within metros, Pune and Delhi led the sequential recovery at more than 18% and 16% increase in hiring, respectively, followed by Kolkata (+14%) and Mumbai (+10%). Coimbatore saw the highest hiring growth of +30% among Tier-2 cities, followed by Ahmedabad at +20% and Jaipur at +15% in December. In fact, hiring of professionals in the hotels/restaurants domain also saw an uptick of 13% sequentially, indicating the revival of the sector. Hiring activity in the month of December declined by 10% vs the last year, the findings showed. While Bengaluru (-1%), Pune (-2%), and Hyderabad (-5%) were less impacted given the growing demand for IT professionals in the virtually connected world, cities such as Mumbai (-25%) and Delhi (-18%) saw a decline in hiring activity in December as compared to the same month last year. Hiring activity recovers by 14% in India in December 2020, says report

The government on Thursday said it expects 5G services to be rolled out in the country by October 12, and the Centre will make sure that the prices are affordable for the consumers. Union IT minister <keyword id="7796574" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ashwini-vaishnaw" source="Orion">Ashwini Vaishnaw</keyword> said that installations are being done and telecom operations are busy with the seamless rollout of 5G services. The government will ensure that the 5G plans remain affordable for the public, the minister said. The government also introduced the "The Indian Telegraph Right of Way (Amendment) Rules, 2022" along with the launch of the 5G right of work (RoW) application Form on the GatiShakti Sanchar Portal. The Indian Telegraph Right of Way (Amendment) Rules, 2022 will help the industry in faster proliferation of digital infrastructure, deployment of small cells, aerial fibre, and street furniture. There is a provision for small cells, electric poles, access to street furniture, etc. introduced for the easy and smooth deployment of 5G networks. The 5G services would be rolled out in a phased manner and during the first phase, 13 cities will get the 5G internet services. The cities are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, <keyword id="11900977" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="gurugram" source="Orion">Gurugram</keyword>, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. Just like 3G and 4G, telcos will soon announce dedicated 5G tariff plans and according to industry experts, consumers may pay more to access the 5G services on their devices. <keyword id="6354504" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="reliance-jio" source="Orion">Reliance Jio</keyword>, Airtel and Vodafone Idea are currently tight-lipped, deliberating internally whether to opt for a substantial or a modest price hike for the end users, along with discussions on providing lucrative data bundling offers with smartphone makers when 5G roll out takes a better shape, according to sources. However, the tariff plans will come down as usage increases, and more people embrace 5G networks especially in Metros where the initial demand will come. An immediate tariff war with the launch of 5G is unlikely, but it "will be competitive as India continues to be a price-conscious market". A recent report by <keyword id="6354527" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nomura" source="Orion">Nomura</keyword> Global Markets Research estimated that telecom service providers would have two options -- either a modest 4 per cent incremental tariff hike on their overall subscriber base or a 30 per cent premium over 1.5 GB per day 4G plans. "Historically, Indian telecom companies have refrained from charging a premium for 4G plans (vs 2G/3G data plans). With potentially higher speed on offer and likely initial uptake from premium customers (smartphones above Rs 15,000), there is a potential for telecom companies to charge a premium for 5G (vs 4G), in our view," Nomura said in its report."5G tariff plans would be a key monitorable in the near term, and 5G premium (vs 4G) may provide the next leg of ARPU (average revenue per unit) uptick for the telecom companies," it added. Another report by Goldman Sachs Equity Research mentioned that 5G rollouts have not resulted in any "meaningful uptick in capex for telecom companies globally, and it foresees a similar trend in India". Airtel CTO Randeep Sekhon said recently in reports that globally, there's not a major difference between 5G and 4G tariffs. "We expect 5G plans in India to be similar to 4G tariffs," he had said.
