Electric vehicles (EV) financing digital platform <keyword id="12028811" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="revfin-services" source="Orion">RevFin Services</keyword> is targeting to finance 20 lakh vehicles in the next five years, with an aim to grow three to four times every year, according to its CEO &amp; Founder <keyword id="1116564" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sameer-aggarwal" source="Orion">Sameer Aggarwal</keyword>. With the Indian electric vehicle industry poised for an accelerated growth, he said the company is confident of meeting its target and would continue to raise funds through debt and equity going forward for the purpose. "From a long-term perspective we have taken a very strong position on EVs, and we have committed to financing two million electric vehicles in the next five years," <keyword id="11517" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="aggarwal" source="Orion">Aggarwal</keyword> told PTI. Asked if the target is not too steep, considering <keyword id="6952105" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="revfin" source="Orion">RevFin</keyword> has financed 17,118 EVs in the last 51 months, he said,"The monthly loan disbursement is growing month-on-month by about 15 per cent. So overall, it has grown almost four times in the last one year. If we continue the kind of growth that we are currently on we will actually achieve these numbers." In 2023-24, the company is looking at financing around 50,000 EVs. "The following year we would do three to four times of that. Obviously, a lot of those numbers will be achieved after the year-two or year-three, but there is a 3-4x growth that we are experiencing," Aggarwal asserted. RevFin has also expanded its portfolio from primarily financing electric rickshaws earlier, adding electric two-wheelers, high speed electric three-wheelers and four-wheelers as well, he added. Apart from offering financing to products of a slew of EV makers, RevFin also has strategic partnerships with manufacturers, including Kinetic Green, Yatri, Saarthi, Mayuri, Lectrix, <keyword id="195740" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hero-electric" source="Orion">Hero Electric</keyword>, and <keyword id="272382" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="piaggio" source="Orion">Piaggio</keyword> among others. When asked about the funding requirements, he said,"Capital is the raw material for us. We are always raising capital in equity and debt." While the company raises debt capital almost every month, Aggarwal said,"Equity we raise 12 to 18 months, which will continue. Every 12 to 18 months we'll be raising equity and then we'll be raising debt to leverage that equity." In October last year, the company had raised USD 10 million (over Rs 80 crore) in a Series A round of funding. As part of its growth strategy, the company plans to expand its presence to around 25 states from the current 16 and take its footprint to about 300 cities, up from around 200 cities at present. Most of these will be focussed for electric two and three-wheelers while for electric four-wheelers it will be in the bigger cities, he added. Earlier last year, BharatPe was rocked by the departures of multiple top-level executives, including the then chief technology officer Vijay Aggarwal, and chief product officer, Rajat Jain leaving the company. BharatPe CEO Suhail Sameer to step down, Nalin Negi to take over in the interim

New Delhi, Jan 1 () Retail major Walmart India has elevated its Chief Business Officer Sameer Aggarwal to the post of Deputy CEO.
 Aggarwal's appointment comes into effect from Wednesday. He will report to Walmart India CEO Krish Iyer, the company said in a statement.
 "Sameer Aggarwal has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Walmart India effective January 1, 2020," a Walmart India spokesperson said.
 "He will continue reporting to Krish Iyer, President &amp; CEO Walmart India and oversee operations, merchandising, people, marketing, real estate, kirana development program, digital, e-commerce and strategy," the spokesperson added.
 Aggarwal has over two decades of experience across industries in general management, strategy, finance and mergers and acquisitions in various countries.
 He holds an MBA degree from the London Business School and is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Aggarwal has also worked with McKinsey &amp; Company UK and Australia as Associate for over seven years.
 He joined Walmart India in April 2018 as EVP, chief strategy and administrative officer and was elevated as Chief Business Officer in December 2018.
 Walmart India operates 28 modern wholesale stores under the brand name 'Best Price'.
 Besides, the company has three Fulfilment Centres, one each in Mumbai, Lucknow and Hyderabad.

This comes at a time when startups have been battling funding winter and elevated inflation, in a rising interest rate regime. BharatPe, a fintech is amongst those with multiple high profile exits, including its co-founder and former managing director Ashneer Grover, along with his wife Madhuri Jain Grover – who not only had to leave the company, but were also sued by BharatPe in December 2022 for ₹88.6 crore. The company alleged that both husband and wife engaged in misappropriation of funds including creating fake bills, enlisting fictitious vendors and so on. They moved on to pursue their own entrepreneurial passions, the company had then said in a statement. Zomato rocked by multiple top level exits, too Sameer’s resignation comes hours after Gunjan Patidar, Zomato’s co-founder and chief technology officer, tendered his resignation. Patidar was one of the first few employees of Zomato who built the core tech systems of the company. “Over the last ten plus years, he (Patidar) also nurtured a stellar tech leadership team that is capable of taking on the mantle of leading the tech function going forward. His contribution to building Zomato has been invaluable,” said the company. Patidar’s exit is the third high-level exit at the food delivery giant in two months. In November last year, another one of Zomato’s co-founders Mohit Gupta tendered his resignation. Its head of new initiatives Rahul Ganjoo; and Siddharth Jhawar, vice-president of global growth also quit in the same month. The list goes on as in September 2022, Zomato’s deputy CFO Nitin Savara also tendered his resignation. The company has been bleeding money and it reported a consolidated loss of ₹251 crore in Q2 FY23. New age companies’ top heads move in and out of big tech companies There is a lot of churn among top executives of new-age tech companies as well as big techs. Online beauty retailer Nykaa’s CFO Arvind Agarwal, who had been with the company through its IPO, quit and joined fintech major PayU as its India CFO, this November. On the other hand, new-age companies have also been able to attract executives from major companies into their fold as well. Case in point is Sugar Cosmetics who brought in Amit Aggarwal, Marico’s head of finance of its India business, as its CFO. Adding to it, Amazon India’s director of grocery, food and health Sameer Khetarpal resigned and moved to Jubilant FoodWorks as CEO, a franchisee that runs Domino’s Pizza, Dunkin Donuts outlets in India. Meta India country head Ajit Mohan tendered his resignation in November 2022, to join rival Snap as the President of Asia Pacific. Following this, WhatsApp India’s head Abhijit Bose and Meta India’s public policy head Rajiv Aggarwal also resigned. The latter joined Samsung India. WhatsApp Pay’s director and head Manesh Mahatme also left his position in September to join Amazon India as director, product and engineering. Last but not the least, another shocking exit was of Parag Agarwal, former CEO of Twitter who was fired by Elon Musk in October, a year after he was appointed for the position.
