The countdown for the launch was initiated yesterday evening at 6:43pm after the first launch event was called off on July 15. ISRO tweeted out, ‘Chandrayaan 2 is ready to a billion dreams to the Moon — now stronger than ever before!’

The ‘technical snag’ during the first mission was reportedly due the fall in pressure in one of the rocket’s fuel tanks, which has since been taken care of.
