Korean smartphone maker Samsung has now revealed its own AI suite, the Galaxy AI, which it claims will transform your everyday mobile experience.
Samsung’s Galaxy AI will soon be offered with the company’s smartphones. This will be powered by both on-device AI and cloud-based AI, similar to Google’s AI features. Samsung has said that the AI features will come early next year. So, we can expect these features to be announced with the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024.
“Galaxy AI is universal intelligence on your phone as you’ve never seen it before. In all the places it matters most — from barrier-free communication, to simplified productivity, to unconstrained creativity — we’re unleashing new possibilities,” Samsung said in its blog post.
One of the first features as part of the Galaxy AI is the AI Live Translate Call. This is basically a live translation feature that will be offered with the company’s phone app in its smartphones.
What this feature will do is provide a live translation during your call, allowing you to speak with anyone across the world, without having to go around looking for someone who can translate – making it an excellent option, for both professionals and those looking to connect with people across the world.
The company has said that audio and text translations will appear in real-time as you speak. The company has also confirmed that the translations will happen on-device and you don’t have to worry about your private conversations leaking.
“Galaxy AI is our most comprehensive intelligence offering to date, and it will change how we think about our phones forever,” said
Google has already made AI-powered features as one the highlights of its Pixel 8 series, allowing users to edit and improve photos and videos.
