Google on Wednesday launched the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel Watch 2 at its Made by Google event in New York. The Pixel 8 series is the successor of the Pixel 7 series that was launched in 2022.

Like the Pixel 7 series, the Pixel 8 series comes with several improvements, including a new chipset, revamped design and the biggest update – improved cameras.

The Google Pixel 8 has been priced at ₹75,999 for the 128GB variant and ₹82,999 for the 256GB variant. It is available in Hazel, Obsidian and Rose colour options and will be go on sale starting from October 12.

The device features a 6.2-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a much-requested update from the Pixel 7’s 90Hz refresh rate. It comes with Gorilla Glass Victus protection and offers 2,000 nits peak brightness.

The Pixel 8 is equipped with the company’s new Google Tensor G3 chipset built on Samsung’s 4nm process. The device comes with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Coming to the optics, the Pixel 8 features a dual camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The camera has features such as 8X high-res zoom, Photo Unblur, 10-bit HDR recording, and more. On the front, the device sports a 10.5MP selfie camera.

It is powered by a 4,575mAh battery with 27W wired and 18W wireless charging support.

Pixel 8 Pro price and availability



The Pixel 8 Pro has been priced at ₹1,06,999 for the 128GB variant and comes in Blue, Beige and Obsidian colour options. The Pixel 8 Pro will be available starting from October 12.

The Pixel 8 Pro is also equipped with the same Google Tensor G3 chipset. The device comes with 12GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. In India, only the 128GB storage variant has been launched.

Coming to the camera department, the Pixel 8 Pro features a triple camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 48MP Quad-Phase detection autofocus ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 48MP 5X Zoom camera with up to 30x super-res digital zoom. On the front, it features the same 10.5MP selfie camera as its sibling.

Another exclusive for the Pixel 8 Pro is its skin temperature sensor, which is placed next to the camera setup.

The Pixel 8 Pro is powered by a bigger 5,050mAh battery with 30W wired and 27W wireless charging support.

Pixel Watch 2 price and availability



The Pixel Watch 2 is priced starting at ₹39,900 and will be available from October 12. Users will get six months of Fitbit Premium membership with the smartwatch.

The Pixel Watch 2 has received design updates, aimed at making it more comfortable. The Pixel Watch 2 is equipped with a new quad-core chipset and delivers up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. Additionally, a 30-minute charge offers 12 hours of battery life.

It comes with a new “Safety Check” feature that will alert your emergency contacts and share your location with them if you do not check-in after a specified period.

The Pixel Watch 2 also comes with three new sensors when compared to its predecessor. It is reported to offer 90% better heart rate tracking compared to its predecessor. It is now also equipped with a multipath sensor, a skin temperature sensor, and a continuous electrodermal activity sensor for stress tracking.

The Pixel Watch 2 also gets a touch of AI with the Fitbit app. Users will now be able to ask Fitbit questions about their activity, including asking its to analyse their exercises, health metrics and more.
