Telangana coronavirus update: One new case reported, total up to 17 now

Hyderabad went into a panic mode earlier this month after an employee of DSM had tested positive for coronavirus at Raheja Mindspace, a tech hub.

The building in which the employee worked was evacuated immediately and the companies asked their employees to work from home. However, he tested negative to the virus.

Hyderabad’s first patient recovers

The first coronavirus patient in the city, a 24-year-old techie had earlier tested positive for the deadly disease. The patient underwent treatment at the state-run Gandhi Hospital and has recovered.

Once discharged, he will be placed under home quarantine and observed for 14 days.

Seventeen coronavirus patients in Telangana

After one more patient tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, the total number of patients in the state increased to 17. The 18-year old had recently returned from London.

Three who returned from Italy under observation

Three passengers who had returned from Italy were rushed to the Gandhi Hospital after they showed symptoms. On Thursday, 2,881 passengers were screened for coronavirus at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport and out of them, 11 persons with symptoms were shifted to a hospital.

India’s first coronavirus victim had travelled to Hyderabad

India’s first coronavirus victim, a 76-year old man from Karnataka had returned to Kalaburgi from Saudi Arabia on February 29. He was admitted to a hospital after showing flu-like symptoms and was shifted to a Hyderabad hospital, where he passed away on Tuesday.

Coronavirus hits the IT Hub

After the scare at Raheja Mindspace, several companies have asked their employees to work from home. This was visible as people travelling around the IT hubs went down over the past few days.
