It is laid over the TV screen for the users to try the flavours.<br /><br />The lickable television is developed by <keyword id="952742" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Meiji-University" source="Orion">Meiji University</keyword> professor <keyword id="12797832" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Homei-Miyashita" source="Orion">Homei Miyashita</keyword> who says that the television was built to help people experience food flavours from across the world while sitting in the comfort of their own home.<br /><br />The professor who works with a team of 30 students has developed multiple flavour related products including a fork that is supposed to help make the food taste better. He has also offered technology firms to use his spraying technique and develop products that can make toasted bread taste like a slice of pizza or chocolate. <br /><br />Apart from these, Homei Miyashita plans to develop a platform where users can download flavours and tastes of food from across the globe, just like they download music. <br /><br />As for the TV, a student of the development team showcased to the reporters how the lickable TV will work. She first told the television that she wanted to taste sweet chocolate. After a few tries, the television responded and an automated voice repeated the order and the flavour was sprayed onto a plastic sheet. With this device, all one needs to do to <keyword id="84707" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="taste" source="Orion">taste</keyword> the food on the display is lick the screen. </p><p>The device is called Taste the TV (TTTV) and involves 10 flavor canisters spraying a combination of flavors onto a plastic film that's layered onto a flat-screen TV, in an attempt to recreate the taste of a food item. </p><p>"The goal is to make it possible for people to have the experience of something like eating at a restaurant on the other side of the world, even while staying at home," Meiji University professor Homei Miyashita told <a href="https://www.reuters.com/technology/lick-it-up-japan-professor-creates-tele-taste-tv-screen-2021-12-23/">Reuters</a>. </p><p>"I'm thinking of making a platform where tastes from all over the world can be distributed as 'taste content.' It's the same as watching a movie or listening to a song that you like," Miyashita added. "I hope people can, in the future, download and enjoy the flavors of the food from the restaurants they fancy, regardless of where they are based in the future." </p><p>The professor added that this device might come in useful for budding sommeliers and chefs — who need to taste things while honing their craft but are disadvantaged because of remote learning.</p><p>Meiji university student Yuki Hou, 22, did a demonstration for Reuters, telling the machine that she wanted to taste sweet chocolate — after which the flavor canisters squirted a sample onto the plastic sheet attached to the screen.</p><p>"It's kind of like milk chocolate," Hou said, after licking the screen. "It's sweet like a chocolate sauce."</p><p>Miyashita told Reuters that he built the prototype over the last year. He estimated that if a commercial version were to be created, it would cost $875 to produce. </p>

Each cell contains a metal core, which will shrink the size of the cell, pulling its shell inward, when an electric current is passed through it or in reaction to temperature.</p><p>On cold, dreary days you could be cheered up as the lower room temperature will cause the cells to react with rapid, psychedelic shifts in hue. Alternatively, on warmer days they could produce cooler tones in response to the heat. The photonic diffraction that occured <a href="http://english.siat.cas.cn/Research_2015/rp_2015/201510/t20151012_153380.html" target="_blank" title="Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology">as the team experimented</a> on the cells produced shifts from magenta to green and dramatic blues.</p><p>Besides reacting to the weather you could control the colour of your walls to your heart's content using a smartphone. However, after working with chemical companies they are now able to produce several litres of paint per day.</p><h2>When can we expect our wall to get this futuristic make-over?</h2><p><span>The team is working to bring the technology into mass-production but we won't imagine we'll see it for a few years yet. "When the product will be available to consumers for home decoration depends on many factors.
