New Delhi [India], March 6 (ANI): The <keyword id="19899810" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india" source="keywords">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (<keyword id="19899808" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="keywords">RBI</keyword>) has issued a directive aimed at enhancing consumer choice and competition in the credit card market. In a circular released on Wednesday, the RBI mandated that card issuers must provide their eligible customers with the option to choose from multiple card networks at the time of issuance or renewal. According to a press release, the central bank prohibited card issuers from entering into agreements with card networks that restrict them from availing the services of other card networks. The directive addresses concerns raised about restrictive practices prevalent in the credit card industry. The RBI identified arrangements between card issuers and card networks that limit customer choice as detrimental to the availability of options in the market. The regulator has lifted the ban on the Diners Club as it has complied with the stipulated norms. “In view of the satisfactory compliance demonstrated by Diners Club International Ltd. with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) circular dated April 6, 2018 on Storage of Payment System Data, the restrictions imposed, vide order dated April 23, 2021, on on-boarding of fresh domestic customers have been lifted with immediate effect,” RBI said in a statement on November 9. RBI removes ban on Diners Club International while restriction on Mastercard, American Express continues

In a major supervisory action, the <keyword id="50847" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reserve-Bank">Reserve Bank</keyword> on Wednesday indefinitely barred the US-based <keyword id="6368201" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="mastercard">Mastercard</keyword> from issuing new credit, debit and prepaid cards with effect from July 22 for its failure to comply with data storage norms. Mastercard, a major card issuing entity in the country, is the third company to have been barred by <keyword id="30067" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="RBI">RBI</keyword> from acquiring new customers after American Express Banking Corp and Diners Club International over data storage issue. "The <keyword id="6354335" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (RBI) has today imposed restrictions on Mastercard Asia/Pacific Pte. Ltd. (Mastercard) from on-boarding new domestic customers (debit, credit or prepaid) onto its card network from July 22, 2021," the central bank said in a statement. The RBI, however, clarified that its supervisory action will not impact the services of the existing customers of Mastercard in the country. Announcing the ban on Mastercard, RBI said, "notwithstanding lapse of considerable time and adequate opportunities being given, the entity has been found to be non-compliant with the directions on <keyword id="11147827" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Storage-of-Payment-System-Data">Storage of Payment System Data</keyword>". Mastercard is a payment system operator authorised to operate a card network in the country under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007 (PSS Act). In terms of RBI's circular on Storage of Payment System Data on April 6, 2018, all system providers were directed to ensure that within a period of six months the entire data relating to payment systems is stored only in India. RBI bars Mastercard from issuing new cards from July 22

RBI's digital currency to be revealed 'very shortly' – governor says issues are still being sorted out internally

Facebook's Libra faces obstacles in one of its biggest markets, because Indian regulators want to jail those who trade in cryptocurrency

The result could see him dispose of nearly $21 billion of stock, the BBC reported. Musk held the poll over the weekend in response to a "billionaires tax" proposed by US Democrats. He pledged that he would abide by the results of the poll, "whichever way it goes". The Democrats had proposed plans to target billionaires by taxing their assets, such as shares. As of 30 June, Musk's shareholding in Tesla came to about 170.5 million shares and selling 10 per cent would amount to close to $21 billion based on Friday's closing prices. The CEO, who currently owns a 23 per cent stake in Tesla, has yet to comment publicly on the Twitter poll result. Musk said on Twitter he takes no salary or bonuses from any of his companies, meaning he has no earnings on which to pay income tax, the report said. A unicorn, in startup parlance, is a company valued at or over a billion dollars. About $140 million was raised as primary capital. The remaining $10 million was raised as secondary capital leading to the partial exit of Chiratae Ventures, MyGlamm’s founder Darpan Sanghvi told Business Insider. Several undisclosed high networth individuals (HNI) have also exited the company. The Series D round was led by investors Prosus Ventures (Naspers), Warburg Pincus along with the participation from Alteria Capital. Existing investors such as L’Occitane, Bessemer Venture Partners, Amazon, Ascent Capital and the Mankekar Family Office also participated in the round. The Good Glamm Group is a culmination of three brands MyGlamm, digital media/e-commerce platform POPxo and online parenting startup BabyChakra. The three companies and their founders — Darpan Sanghvi (MyGlamm), Priyanka Gill (POPxo) and Naiyya Saggi (BabyChakra) — have created this entity to set up a house of brands and further enhance each other’s presence in the beauty and personal care space. The group entity has also acquired well-known<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/startups/news/with-scoopwhoop-and-popxo-on-its-side-heres-what-myglamm-intends-to-do/articleshow/87177789.cms"> digital media brand ScoopWhoop and The Moms Co</a>, which offers mom and baby care products. Each of the acquired companies continue to operate independently. A part of the fund would also be used to expand the content creation capabilities and digital reach of POPxo, Plixxo, BabyChakra and <keyword id="2088138" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="scoopwhoop" source="Orion">ScoopWhoop</keyword>. The Group will also continue to make investments in more <keyword id="12188627" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="beauty-and-personal-care-brands" source="Orion">beauty and personal care brands</keyword>. “This fund that we have raised is primarily to solidify all the value engines of the group,” Sanghvi said, adding that this will help the core business of the group to grow. He further elaborated that the Good Glamm Group would be looking to further expand its distributions through online as well as offline channels. The company is also setting up a new research and development (R&amp;D) lab in Mumbai. ScoopWhoop and MyGlamm’s parent, which is backed by Amazon, is now valued over a billion dollars

<ul><li><keyword id="6357120" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paytm" source="Orion">Paytm</keyword>’s IPO has been oversubscribed on the third day of listing, however the response is still underwhelming compared to some recent IPOs.</li><li>Bids have been placed for 9.14 crore shares versus 4.83 crore shares available for sale, as of 5:00 p.m.</li><li>Media reports suggest that Paytm's GMP has fallen from ₹150 to ₹55 in the last one week.</li><li>Paytm has been seeking a valuation of $19.3-19.9 billion with this public issue.</li></ul>The initial public offering (IPO) of Paytm has been fully subscribed on the third pay of the public issue, after receiving an underwhelming response from the institutional investors in the first two days of the issue. The company’s IPO was subscribed only 68% till 1:00 p.m, on Wednesday, according to the data updated on stock exchange. However, the offering was oversubscribed by 1.33 times or 133% by 1:47 p.m. This massive difference was created solely by qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), who have subscribed to the IPO by two times. Notably, the portion reserved for QIBs was only subscribed by 46% till yesterday, November 9. QIBs include foreign institutional investors, banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, mutual funds and others. This is India’s biggest-ever IPO, surpassing Coal India’s public issue of ₹15,000 crore in October 2010. The retail portion of Paytm’s IPO has been subscribed 1.66 times, according to the stock exchange. The portion reserved for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) has been subscribed 2.79 times and non-institutional investors have been subscribed 24%. The retail portion of Paytm’s IPO has been oversubscribed since day one, whereas the non-institutional portion is still lagging behind. As of 5:00 p.m, on November 10, Paytm has received bids for 9.14 crore shares versus 4.83 crore shares available for sale. The IPO has been subscribed 1.74 times by the same time. Despite the over subscription, Paytm’s IPO is still underwhelming compared to other IPOs that were listed this year. According to media reports citing market observers, Paytm (One 97 Communications) shares premium has slipped in the grey market and is commanding a grey market premium (GMP) of around ₹55 today, November 10. A Mint <a href="https://www.livemint.com/market/ipo/paytm-ipo-latest-gmp-and-subscription-details-on-final-day-of-issue-11636518360648.html">report</a> noted that Paytm’s GMP has fallen from ₹150 to ₹55 in the last one week. Despite being the biggest and the most sought after startup IPO in India, Paytm has received an underwhelming response from the investors. Paytm’s shares are being offered at a price band of ₹2,080-₹2,150, and the lot size has been set at six shares. This means one lot would cost up to ₹12,900 at the upper price band. Paytm — valued at $16 billion — was founded in 2010 and is one of the largest digital payments companies in India. The company is seeking a valuation between $19.3 billion to $19.9 billion with this public issue. The valuation itself has been a point of contention for several stock brokerages. Marwadi Financial Services believes that Paytm's valuation is<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/startups/news/subscribe-to-paytm-ipo-experts-are-not-fully-convinced/articleshow/87578255.cms"> too demanding for a loss making company</a>. However, Angel One notes that Paytm is well positioned to gain from growth of digital payments. Therefore, the valuation is justified.
