Google Maps has gained several useful features over time. One of these is the ability to add multiple stops in a single trip. This allows you to plan your complete journey at once and you get a good idea as to how long it could take.

You can add multiple stops in Google Maps on the Android and iOS apps as well as the website. The process remains the same for all three options, so let’s get to it.

  • Search for your destination in Google Maps.
  • Once you find what you’re looking for, tap on the Directions button.
  • Now, tap on the three dots on the top right and select ‘Add stop’. Enter the details and the stop will be automatically added in your list. You can add up to nine stops at a time.
  • Once you have added all the stops, tap on Done.
Google Maps will now show you the directions. If you want to reorder, tap on the stops box on the top and drag the destinations by holding the three-line icon.

You can also add or remove any destination at any point by tapping on the stops box above and then tapping on the ‘x’ button next to the stop.

Note that multiple stops work only in driving, cycling and walking modes.

If you are on the Google Maps website, you can plan your entire journey and then send a link to your phone – this will import the plan on your phone, and you can start your journey right away.
