OnePlus on Tuesday evening launched its latest flagship device, the OnePlus 12 at its global launch event in India. The device was
launched in China in December 2023 and has finally made its way to India. Along with the OnePlus 12, the OnePlus 12R, the company’s mid-range offering and the OnePlus Buds 3 have also been launched in the country.
The OnePlus 12 is the third smartphone with the latest
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset to launch in India, after the
iQOO 12 and the
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The OnePlus 12R has made its global debut in India today but it is the rebadged version of the OnePlus Ace 3 which has been launched in China.

The OnePlus 12 has been priced at ₹64,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage variant and ₹69,999 for the 16GB RAM + 512GB internal storage variant.
The device comes in Rock Black, Pale Green and White colour options and will be available from January 30 from Amazon India, OnePlus Online store and OnePlus offline stores across the country.
OnePlus 12 specifications
The OnePlus 12 runs on Android 14 out of the box with the company’s OxygenOS 14 on top. Unlike the
Samsung Galaxy S24 series that will get seven years of Android and security updates, the OnePlus 12 will get four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.
The OnePlus features a large 6.82-inch Quad HD+ curved BOE X1 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The display comes with a peak brightness of 4500 nits, a new high for smartphones. It also offers 2160Hz high-frequency PWM Dimming.
The OnePlus 12 is equipped with the latest
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In the Galaxy S24 series, only the top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped with the new chipset from Qualcomm. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, both of which are priced above the OnePlus 12 are offered with the Exynos 2400 chipset.
The device is available in three variants – 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB internal storage and 16GB RAM + 1TB of internal storage
The OnePlus 12 features a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera with Sony LYT-808 sensor, OIS, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera with the Sony IMX581 sensor and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with Omnivision OV64B sensor with 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom and up to 120x digital zoom.
On the front, the device sports a 32MP selfie camera with Sony IMX615 sensor, offering 4K 30fps video recording. The selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole notch on the display.
The OnePlus 12 is powered by a 5,400mAh battery, coupled with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging support and 50W wireless charging support. It can be fully charged in 26 minutes using wired charging and 55 minutes for wireless charging. This will make it the largest battery on a OnePlus smartphone as its predecessor, the OnePlus 11 was equipped with a 5,000mAh battery.
It is IP65 rated for water and dust resistance and comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus 12R price and availability
The OnePlus 12R has been priced at ₹39,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹45,999 for the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
The device comes in Gold, Cool Blue and Iron Gray colour options.

The OnePlus 12R runs on Android 14 out of the box with the company’s OxygenOS 14 on top. It features a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE X1 AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It also offers 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and comes in two variants – 12GB LPDDR5X RAM + 256GB UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB LPDDR5X RAM + 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Coming to the camera department, the OnePlus 12R features a triple camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor with Howe OV02B sensor. On the front, the device sports a 16MP selfie camera.
The OnePlus 12R is powered by a large 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. The device can be fully charged in 27 minutes.
