What is two-step
Two-step verification has been designed to prevent others from using your WhatsApp account. When this feature is enabled, your account cannot be reverified without entering the 6-digit PIN.
Once you use the PIN on your account, you cannot reverify this account in the next seven days without a PIN. After seven days of using the PIN, you can reverify your account without a PIN but all your pending messages will be deleted.
How to enable two-step verification on WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp on your phone.
- Tap on the overflow button (three dots) at the top right corner.
- Click on ‘Settings’ and then go to ‘Account’.
- Now, click on ‘two-step verification’.
- Now, click on ‘Enable’.
- Enter a 6-digit PIN and then re-enter it.
- Now, you will be asked to enter an email address and then re-enter it for verification.
- You also have the option of skipping this step.
- Click on ‘Done’.
