OnePlus 12 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launch in India on Jan 23 – everything we know so far

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the$4 in India on January 23, alongside the OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 12 is the successor of the OnePlus 11 smartphone that was launched in February 2023.

The OnePlus 12 has already been launched in China, so we know everything about the device, except its Indian pricing. The device is expected to be priced slightly above its predecessor, but it won’t be surprising if the company keeps the price aggressive to take on the upcoming$4,$4 and more.

OnePlus 12 expected price in India

The OnePlus 12 has been priced starting at CNY 4,299 (approx. ₹50,620) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and goes up to CNY 5,799 (approx. ₹68,440) for the 24GB RAM + 1TB internal storage variant.

The OnePlus 11 was priced starting at ₹56,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Considering that the RAM and storage has received a boost, the device may be priced higher, and could start around ₹59,999.

OnePlus 12 specifications

The OnePlus 12 runs on Android 14 out of the box with the company’s OxygenOS 14 on top. The device will get four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.

The smartphone features a 6.82-inch Quad HD+ curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The display comes with a peak brightness of 4500 nits, a new high for smartphones. It also offers 2160Hz high-frequency PWM Dimming.

The OnePlus 12 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and is available in China in four variants – 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB internal storage, 16GB RAM + 1TB of internal storage and 24GB RAM + 1TB internal storage. At the moment, there is no information on which variants will be launched in India.

The OnePlus 12 features a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera with Sony LYT-808 sensor, OIS, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera with the Sony IMX581 sensor and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with Omnivision OV64B sensor with 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom and up to 120x digital zoom.

On the front, the device sports a 32MP selfie camera with Sony IMX615 sensor, offering 4K 30fps video recording.

The OnePlus 12 is powered by a 5,400mAh battery, coupled with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging support and 50W wireless charging support. It is IP56 rated for water and dust resistance and comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
