Initial jobless claims come in more than expected
Initial jobless claims totaled 276,000 last week, unchanged from the prior period, and more than expected.
Economists had estimated that initial jobless claims fell 6,000 to 270,000 last week, according to Bloomberg.
Last week, the four-week moving average of claims, which evens out volatility, rose by 5,000 to 267,750. This is still near a 42-year low.
