An increasingly popular supplement people take to help them fall asleep is melatonin. Like birth control, melatonin affects your hormones.

Medical term: $4 is a hormone that is crucial for regulating our internal body clocks and sleep-wake cycles. Our bodies naturally produce melatonin when we're in darkness.
