IndiGo wants Airbus to make up for the delay, seeks tech support

As Airbus and Pratt & Whitney delayed in providing aircrafts to IndiGo on time, Indian low-budget airline is seeking incentives as compensation.
IndiGo had ordered 430 Airbus Neos, which are the upgraded versions of 180-seater Airbus 320, and were supposed to be delivered by December or early January.
However, Airbus said it would delay due to technical issues.
Now, IndiGo is asking for technical support and maintenance as part of the compensation.
"The airline is unlikely to ask for penalty. Money is not as important as getting (cheaper) technical support, etc.," a person told ET on the condition of anonymity.
"We have delivered our first A320Neo to Lufthansa earlier this week and are in discussions with our other early customers on their delivery schedules," a person told ET.
Reportedly, IndiGo is popular for leasing rental agreements on the basis of large volumes of orders.
