Is it the dark knight rising? Is it’s chocolate mousse? No it’s a burger! A South Africa based food chain, Barcelos has given Delhites a chance to slurp the deliciousness of black burgers.

It all started in Japan. Last year the war of the burger makers introduced the world to Burger King’s Black Kuro Burger darkened with bamboo charcoal and McDonald's same version blackened with squid ink. Black buns, black cheese, black sauce, black pepper and black beef buns – the dark secret of finger licking burger was out on the table.

However, the twist in the tale in India lied in the fact that this restaurant has used red, yellow and blue food colors in exact proprtions to make it look black.

Talking to The Times of India, Bangalore-based brand expert Harish Bijoor said it's a ploy to break monotony. "You have yellow and purple tomato ketchups in the US. In Bangalore, there is a restaurant that sells golden dosa," he said.
