A couple quit their jobs to open a floating pizzeria in the Caribbean - and their business is thriving
Quitting your 9-to-5 to travel the world is a trendy life decision as of late. But quitting your 9-to-5 to open a floating pizzeria in the sparkling waters of the Caribbean? That's one-of-a-kind.
Meet Sasha and Tara Bouis, owners of PiZZA Pi, the Caribbean's first (and only) pizza boat. Sasha had spent years working on Wall Street. Tara was an elementary school teacher based in Indiana. The two met in the British Virgin Islands, where Tara taught summer scuba lessons. For 8 years, they operated private chartered yacht business together. But one night, while anchored near St. Thomas, they simply had a hankering for pizza, Bloomberg reports. That's when the idea for PiZZA Pi was born. The Bouises opened for business in November 2014 and haven't looked back.
Here's a window into their lives as pizza slingers in paradise.
