Jaipuria, who was earlier the MD of the Indian unit of US agriculture company Monsanto, had joined Reliance Jio around two years back as its wireline business head. It was only about a year ago that he moved to Jio's mobility business where he oversaw a host of functions, including customer acquisitions, usage and retention (U&R), Wi-Fi and enterprise businesses.

Now that Jaipuria has quit the company, it could possibly mean a possible segment-wise restructuring of the mobility business, and senior officials might have to name separate functional heads for all the functions that he managed.
