In pics: After Odd-even, Delhi comes out on bicycles on one of the coldest days of the season #CarFreeDayIn the thick blanket of fog which engulfed Delhi in the morning today, several Delhiites clad in sweaters and ‘topis’ were seen riding bicycles to their offices. The national capital woke up to yet another Car Free Day and got back to its resolve against rising pollution, as the temperature slipped under 6.9 degrees Celcius.

While school students were seen walking and cycling on Delhi roads to promote the spirit, several Delhiites took to bicycles and public transport to commute. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led the cycle rally from the Delhi University campus to Chhatrasal Stadium in north Delhi. What is Delhi’s fourth Car Free Day comes following the recently concluded odd-even traffic scheme by the Delhi government. People who have been asked to forego cars and opt for cycle or public transport to go to their offices in a bid to bring down pollution level and avoid traffic congestion, were unexpectedly seen observing the day in full spirit. They used additional DTC buses that were plying on the designated routes just for today.

Delhi saw its first Car Free Day on 22 October last year when the transport department had held it between from Red Fort to India Gate. The next one was held in East Delhi's Patparganj area on 22 December.

As the city reeled under cold waves today, it failed to affect the ever-supportive and united Delhiites. If you missed out the fun and excitement, check these out:
