Modi asks BJP MPs to maintain required presence in parliamentPM Narendra Modi has expressed his unhappiness over lack of attendance in the parliament, which causes delay in the proceedings. He has also asked MPs from his party to make sure that they are present in the parliament, since he can call any of them any time.

In a BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, he said that attending parliament is the basic responsibility of an MP, adding that while he can do a lot of things, he cannot be present in the Houses on their behalf.

It was after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar spoke about incidents when parliament saw a lack of quorum that the Prime Minister expressed his unhappiness.

He said that as representatives of lakhs of people of their constituency, it is their job to attend the House proceedings.
