In a bid to give a boost to the Indian start-up culture globally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take his 'Startup India, Stand Up India' to the Silicon Valley later this month. And for this, PM Modi has already prepared a long list of programme that he intends to do at the Silicon Valley.According to a report by ET, PM Modi is expected to visit the offices of technology giants Google, Facebook and Tesla, and a dinner meeting with top tech sector honchos, people familiar with his September 26-27 visit to San Francisco.
"Even before he became PM, in all of his conversations, he has been pretty consistent that we want to see a Google or a Facebook in India. So, how do we make India the innovation hub where new ideas emerge? Another idea is to understand first hand from the Silicon Valley, what worked there, so that we can create a similar innovation environment of clusters of cities or towns where innovation can happen," said Shashi Shekhar, CEO of Niti Digital, which was also a part of Modi's 2014 poll campaign.
He is also expected to host a dinner meeting with the top IT CEOs in order to pitch for one of his pet projects, Digital India. Some of top tech honchos that he plans to meet during his one day visit include the recently appointed Google head Sundar Pichai, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, George Kurian, CEO of NetApp, and CEO of Adobe Systems, Shantanu Narayen.
It should be noted that PM Modi is the first Indian head of state to have officially visit the Mecca of technology start-ups.
