On Wednesday, Black Sports Online reported that Jessica McCloughan, the wife of Washington Redskins General Manager Scot McCloughan, accused ESPN reporter Diana Russini on Twitter of exchanging sexual favors for information, and of being her husband's "side piece."
Russini was the reporter who broke the story that Kirk Cousins replacing Robert Griffin III as starting quarterback for the team this year.
Here's the original tweet from McCloughan, which has since been deleted. The account has been deleted as well:
Deadspin reports that the account, which has since been deleted, likely belonged to Mrs. McCloughan, considering her son's account had tweeted at it, as well as the wife of another Redskin's employee. However, a Washington Redskins PR person immediately denied that the account had truly belonged to Mrs. McCloughan.
Then, just a few hours ago, Mrs. McCloughan released a statement owning up to the tweet and offering an apology.
