- Donald Trump Jr. tried to teach his daughter a lesson on socialism using her Halloween candy.
- It did not go over well.
Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter on Halloween to let the internet know he was teaching his 3-year-old daughter Chloe a lesson on socialism.
Trump Jr. wrote that he was "going to take half of Chloe's candy tonight" and "give it to some kid who sat at home."
"It's never too early to teach her about socialism," he wrote.
The internet, predictably, roasted President Donald Trump's son for his post, which had more than 63,000 replies and 18,000 retweets as of Wednesday morning.
I'm going to take half of Chloe's candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. It's never to early to teach her about socialism. pic.twitter.com/3ie9C0jv2G

She was given that candy for free. Halloween is already socialism, you malignant potato. https://t.co/JRcvEqg6ej

Calm down everyone. He's only joking.
He'd never really teach her that sharing is a good thing. https://t.co/RE6HsgnhCK

His posts make me think that maybe Marx had a point about "inherited wealth going to those with no merit." https://t.co/EIlt4G0WgI

Or, you could take 99% of the candy and give it to the richest kid on the block to teach her about crony capitalism.#WednesdayWisdom https://t.co/jQPa7cumM2

Fill her bucket with old candy left by her great-grandfather, then explain that she has more because she's smarter than all the other kids. https://t.co/0lbhHYyFe4

I took half my kid's candy tonight, ate it myself, and then blamed Hillary for it. It's never too early to teach him about Trump's America. https://t.co/Cp2GpLErtN

I'll take 1/2 my kids candy, store it in a Cyprus tax shelter, then declare bankruptcy to teach her about capitalism https://t.co/7OAOjFYjQx

She learned enough about socialism when he took her door to door asking for handouts. It's not too late to teach generosity though https://t.co/3s7FEjzK2o

My man, "socialism" was her getting that free candy in the first place. You taking half for reasons she can't understand is capitalism https://t.co/w9x9zB0xLA

Nah. Just take some candy from your trick or treaters & give her even more. Never too early to teach her about her grandfather's tax code. https://t.co/yzJaQOK96h

Better idea: have her take out loans, use the money to buy and eat candy, then default and declare bankruptcy. That's the Trump way. https://t.co/juVD1FMq2o

You should let her steal all of her friend's candy & teach them about civil asset forfeiture since she dressed up as a cop. https://t.co/mJ03uQFu7z

Man, that joke never gets old. It's like skimming money off a charity for kids or colluding with a foreign government, there's always room. https://t.co/zV4wRx31WP
