This is how people reacted to superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ teaser

The much-awaited teaser of superstar Rajinikanth’s next ‘Kabali’ was launched on Sunday and as expected it took the internet by storm. Within minutes of hitting YouTube, the one-minute seven second video-clip went viral on almost all social networking sites, emerging as one of the fastest viewed teasers.

It didn’t just stop there. Within an hour of the teaser’s release, it also managed to cross a whopping 1 million views on YouTube, making it the highest so for a South Indian film. After 24 hours, that count stood at over 6 million views.

Whacked Out Media, the Hyderabad based digital marketing company that has been tasked with optimizing the promotional material of the movie on Youtube claims that the hashtag “#KabaliTeaser" was a worldwide trend on Sunday, with over 6.6 million people tweeting about it.
Once the makers unveiled a new poster of Rajaniknath before the release of the teaser, Kabali was one among one of the top trends on Facebook.

Among other things, Rajnikanth’s look has been the talk of the town with the internet going gaga over the superstar’s smart beard and powerful dialogue delivery as Kabali, the gangster.

Kabali is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the banner V Creations and also stars Radhika Apte, Attakathi Dinesh, Kalaiarasan, Dhansika, John Vijay and Kishore. Written and directed by Pa. Ranjith, the Tamil film's release is slated for later this year.
