GM's newest electric car could break Tesla's monopoly in Europe

Like the Chevy Bolt, the Opel Ampera-E is a five-door hatchback.
Range estimates have not yet been officially released, but we can probably expect the Ampera-E to have similar numbers to the Bolt's 200 mile range.
"Affordably priced" was Opel's official word on pricing. On this side of the pond, America's Chevy Bolt is set to go on sale at $37,500 before tax breaks.

If the Ampera-E is truly a bargain when it launches in 2017, it could potentially disrupt Tesla's monopoly on the 200+ mile range European EV market. We'll have to wait and see how Tesla fires back with their Model 3 release next month.
No specific word yet on when these might be in Opel showrooms available for purchase.
Opel is one of General Motors' Europe-based sub-brands, based out of Germany.
