Government Asks Greenpeace To Provide Details On Foreign Funding

Acting on an Intelligence Bureau (According to media reports, the licences of all the NGOs named in the IB report will be reviewed under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), 2010.
Greenpeace had denied charges levelled in the IB report that labelled the NGO as ‘a threat to national economic security.’
The ministry has asked the NGO to furnish details regarding the sources of its funds, the beneficiaries and on what activities the funds are spent.
Greenpeace was funded by individual donors in the country and does not accept any donation from corporate or government entities.
