NFL owners are being asked to hand over cell phone records and emails in relation to the Colin Kaepernick collusion case, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter
According to Schefter, some of the owners being deposed include Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys, Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots, and Bob McNair of the Houston Texans, among others.
According to ABC News, Paul Allen of the Seattle Seahawks and Jed York of the San Francisco 49ers will also be deposed.
According to ABC News, owners were selected by their public comments either on Kaepernick or national anthem protests.
Kaepernick filed a grievance against the NFL in October, alleging that owners colluded against hiring him due to his national anthem protests. He hired attorney Mark Geragos for the grievance.
Kaepernick has remained unsigned since opting out of his contract with the 49ers in March. According to a report from CBS's Jason La Canfora, Kaepernick has been working out daily in hopes of getting a second chance in the NFL.
It was reported in October that Kaepernick would attend the next meeting between NFL players and the league over national anthem protests, as players reportedly view his voice as an important one in the cause.
