Job openings decline in March

The number of job openings declined in March, to 4.99 million from 5.144 million in February, missing expectations.

This report measures the number of job openings in the economy, a measure of how aggressively employers are looking to hire, and more job openings indicates a labor market turning in favor of employees over employers.

Expectations were for Tuesday's report to show number of job openings fell slightly in March, to 5.108 million.

February's number was another post-crisis high.
