Monthly Per Capita Expenditure In Urban Delhi Highest In India: Report

As per a report on household The average monthly per capita expenditure (MPCE) in the urban areas of Delhi went up from Rs 2,905 in 2010 to Rs 3,842 in 2012. About 39% of the MPCE in urban Delhi was on food items.
Other than food items, which accounted for 61% of MPCE, 6% was on fuel and power, 6% on clothing and bedding, 8% on education, 3% on medical, 6% on rent and 1% on pan, tobacco and intoxicants.
The urban MPCEs of some other states are: Haryana, Rs 3,817; Kerala, Rs 3,408; Punjab, Rs 2,794; Tamil Nadu, Rs 2,622; Andhra Pradesh, Rs 2,685; Gujarat, Rs 2,581; Madhya Pradesh, Rs 2,058; Uttar Pradesh, Rs 2,051 and Bihar, Rs 1,507.
