A new poll from YouGov asked respondents from a group of 19 countries across the world whether they believe they live "in the best country in the world" as part of the polling company's international survey on globalisation.

While the survey is not based on a complete global list of countries, the broad selection of territories from around the world nonetheless provides an interesting insight into how feelings of nationhood vary between different regions.

The question of patriotism comes at an interesting time - Donald Trump's surprise victory was based on a campaign to "Make America Great Again," and in the UK, the Brexit vote in June was billed as a chance for voters to "take our country back." So where do both countries fit into the list?

YouGov asked adults aged 18 or over in 19 countries, with all surveys being carried out online in October 2016.

The countries polled were Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

Take a look at how the countries ranked against each other below in terms of the percentage who believe their country is "the best in the world." In instances where two countries are tied in that response, both are ranked against each other according to the percentage in each who said that their country was "better than most other countries."
