The development comes days after India’s home-grown e-commerce giantFlipkart said it’s focus is now on India’s rural areas and smaller cities.
"Our ambition in India is to become everything for everyone," Amit Agarwal, head of Amazon in India, told ET. "We believe customers, wherever they are in India, should be able to buy and get products delivered to them."
A few days back, Flipkart had said that the company would reorganise its network so that smaller towns can be better served.
