Schools have beaten into us that intelligence is singular and definite. However, in 1983 Howard Gardener described intelligence as a more dynamic and diverse phenomenon. Truth is we focus in certain types of intelligence and choose to ignore others.

That means the next time you get a promotion or score poorly in math, nobody in the world has the right to call you intelligent or stupid. You are better at something else. You just need to find what.

BI India lists the 9 types of intelligence Gardener described:

· Logical-Mathematical
· Linguistic
· Bodily

· Musical
· Naturalist
· Interpersonal
· Intra-personal
· Spacial
· Existential

There is still a raging debate whether subjects other than math and language are actually types of intelligence or just skills.
