A Twitter bot has spent the entire day scolding people who are talking about Caitlyn Jenner

There's a robot on Twitter attempting to correct people who are referring to Caitlyn Jenner as "he" or "him." A noble gesture, sure, but it turns out the bot can't distinguish between who's actually using the wrong pronouns and those trying to be helpful in the same way.

Prior to completing her transition from Bruce to Caitlyn, Jenner was still using male pronouns.

"Until that transition is done, we've learned that you do refer to him as 'him,'" Jenner's step-daughter Kim Kardashian had told the "Today" show.

But earlier today, Vanity Fair released a preview of its cover story featuring Caitlyn Jenner; her first interview since she transitioned fully from Bruce into a woman. She has begun referring to herself using female pronouns, and asking everyone else to follow her example. This means "she" and "her," rather than "him" and "his."

Twitter robot, @she_not_he, is lending a digital hand and re-tweeting people who are using male pronouns in reference to Jenner.

The bot politely reminds people to use Jenner's preferred pronouns.

However, @she_not_he cannot tell when other Twitter users are tweeting in an attempt to spread awareness.

The account ends up correcting people who are advocating for Jenner's new identity.

@She_n0t_he began tweeting corrections at 2:17 pm today and has interacted with over 300 Twitter users, Mashable reports.I made several attempts to get @she_not_he to correct my of tweets abouts Jenner. First, I tried intentionally using male pronouns in a positive tweet about Jenner's transition, knowing that "he" and "him" were technically incorrect. The Twitter bot did not respond to this tweet, although one of my followers caught on to what I was trying to do. Then I tried an informational tweet where I explained that male pronouns are no longer appropriate for describing Jenner.  @She_not_he did not react to this tweet either. At 5:28pm the bot tweeted "we'll be back soon!" Hopefully they're trying to fix the issues at hand. Until then, you can follow the bot here, and more important, you can follow Caitlyn Jenner on Twitter here.
