Abercrombie's newest model is a social media activist

After years of accusations of elitism and even racism, Abercrombie and Fitch just hired a model of Indian descent for the first time ever.

Neelam Gill, 20, is already well known in the fashion industry because she was featured in a Burberry campaign as her first job ever - a pretty much unheard-of accomplishment.

She was the first Indian model ever featured in Burberry's ads, according to Elle. Now, she's repeating that milestone and reaching a mainstream audience as the first Indian model to be booked by Abercrombie and Fitch.
