Chelsea Football Club's Brazilian star Oscar made headlines this week when he reportedly agreed to join a team in the Chinese Super League for an eye-watering £60 million, a move which would make him one of the world's most highly-paid footballers.

China's premier league, backed by huge state investment, looks set to become the richest in the world, but for now that accolade lies with England's Premier League - and its footballers have huge salaries to match.

So who are the richest footballers playing or hailing from the UK? The Sunday Times Rich List, which is released every April, includes a ranking of the UK's wealthiest young footballers - defined as any player who is yet to retire.

The list includes footballers who either hail from, or play, in the UK. Take a look.
