Aussie delegation explores opportunity in mining

Kolkata, Feb 25 () A 16-member business delegationfrom Down Under is currently in the city as a part ofAustralia-India Business Exchange 2020 and exploringcollaboration opportunities in the mining industry of EasternIndia, officials said.

The government last year allowed 100 per cent foreigninvestment in coal mining.

Coal India Ltd also seeks to ramp up production to onebillion tonnes by 2024 advancing the target by two yearsoffering greater opportunities for mining technology andequipment companies.

Coinciding with the visit of the Australiandelegation, a panel discussion titled "India's mining industry Targets, Reforms and Roadmaps" was organised by theAustralian Trade and Investment Commission. BSMNN NN
