Copper futures gain on spot demand

New Delhi, Feb 5 () Copper prices on Wednesday traded up by Rs 4.50 at Rs 433.10 per kg in futures market as speculators widened their holdings on the back of spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 4.50, or 1.05 per cent, at Rs 433.10 per kg in a business turnover of 3,550 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in March edged up by Rs 3.95, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 434.15 per kg in 81 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to raising of bets by participants driven by a pick-up in spot demand. VHP SHWSHW
