On Monday, Facebook announced that it acquired wit.ai, a California-based company, without providing any information about the price of the deal. Wit.ai create voice interface that can easily understand spoken words and text written in "natural language."

However, Facebook is yet to disclose that within which group it will seek technological help from the wit.ai team.

It appears that Facebook, which had earlier acquired Whatsapp, is now planning to venture into voice-recognition arena. This technology also powers Apple's iOS navigator Siri, Android’s Google Now, and Windows Phone’s Cortana.
